Alpharetta & Atlanta Inventor Statistics for 2022

Using the USPTO Patent Public Search database, we were able to identify 365 patents that issued in 2022 that included inventors from Alpharetta.

Some notable assignees that included Alpharetta inventors include UPS, Imerys, AT&T, Arris, Verint, Equifax, Alcon, Georgia Tech University, among others.

ROSWELL

Using the USPTO Patent Public Search database, we were able to identify 202 patents that issued in 2022 that included inventors from Roswell.

CUMMING

Using the USPTO Patent Public Search database, we were able to identify 222 patents that issued in 2022 that included inventors from Cumming.

ATLANTA

Using the USPTO Patent Public Search database, we were able to identify 1,263 patents that issued in 2022 that included inventors from Atlanta. When compared to other Top 10 metro areas in terms of population, Atlanta lagged behind New York City (3,690), Los Angeles (2,284), Chicago (1,984),

As a comparison, Atlanta seemed to lag behind other cities of comparable size. Dallas was a city of residence on 1,116 issued patents, Seattle was a city of residence on 4,348 issued patents, Houston was a city of residence on 2,720 issued patents, and Austin was city of residence on 3,739 issued patents. In terms of the Southeast, Atlanta surpassed other regional cities, such as Miami (660 issued patents), Nashville (302), Birmingham (297), and Charlotte (775).
